It is with great pride that we announce our Feature Members

THERESA
(Last name and photos withheld at Members request.)

Congratulations Theresa!

We at Pretty Woman Fitness are proud of you, and the healthy lifestyle you’ve chosen. With your good attitude and work ethic you are an inspiration to others! Your steadfast resolution to decrease your portion sizes and to space your treats apart appropriately have definitely paid dividends for you.

Not only does Theresa assist her husband with farm chores (especially during calving and haying times) and hold a job requiring a strong sense of responsibility, she also works out enthusiastically at P.W.F. recognizing that she can strengthen certain muscles here that do not get proper attention during her work in the home, on the farm or at her town job.

Although you’d never guess it, judging by her youthful appearance, she now has grandmotherly duties to perform as well. We love the anecdote of how Theresa could hardly recognize her much heavier, much older-looking friends at a reunion after 40 years – and there was Theresa looking slimmer (having lost 47 pounds) and fitter than she had back then!

Your strength & determination are an inspiration to others, way to go Theresa!

WIN BOWIN

Win's name is certainly the right one for this winsome lady who is
definitely a winner in our gym. Win first joined Pretty Woman Fitness on
Feb. 20, 2006. Years ago she was carrying excess weight, but since
consistently working out here, Win has whittled over 6 inches from her
waistline, and strengthened her abdominals to the point where her trim
silhouette is amazingly svelte.

Win includes skipping rope as part of her workout. Starting off with only 10
- 20 jumps at a time she has progressed to 50 jumps now, and has even
reached 60! Her achievements (better sleep, a steady, healthy weight,
greater endurance, no need for pills...) are all the more outstanding when
you realize that this youthful, energetic enthusiastic lady is 73 years
young! Congratulations Win!

P.S. She says "Don't forget to mention the Barley Life that has also helped
to keep me feeling great!"

PWF says: I think Win is in better shape than some people 7 times
younger than she is. Win is absolutely amazing! You go girl!

BEV EDWARDS

A member, Bev, who joined Pretty Woman Fitness on January 23, 2006 has made great progress in her overall health.

Every one compliments her on her trimmer, younger looking silhouette.

Bev joined at first with the urging of her husband and wasn’t totally involved in her motivation towards self improvement.

After some initial discouragements she was encouraged to put more thought into her eating habits (to compliment the benefits of exercising) Bev had the self-discipline to cut out “white foods”. She now enjoys fruits, especially berries. She has found a good variety of ways to get the protein she feels she needs.

Bev is now pro-active and working methodically to maintain her well – being and more youthful appearance.

WAY TO GO, BEV!!! - PWF

ANNA
(Last name & pictures withheld at Members request)

My name is Anna and I am a member of Pretty Woman fitness centre.

During my time with Pretty woman fitness, I have lost almost 100 lbs!

The facilities are great and convenient for those who maintain a busy lifestyle. I am able to do muscle strengthening exercises as well as aerobics and it has been effective in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I must say what I appreciate the most is the individualized care and training available to members by the staff of Pretty Women fitness. The owner and staff always take time to answer any questions you have and review your exercise routine with you.

Nutritional counselling is available and has been so helpful. The centre is equipped for women of all ages and also has a hydro-massage bed. This has also helped me a great deal and it is great for circulation.

I have just renewed my membership and plan to be a member for quite some time! This is the first centre where not only the facilities are great...the staff sincerely encourage and motivate you in reaching your goals.

Thank you to Debbie, and staff for all your encouragement and care.

All the best!

PRETTY WOMAN FITNESS

Thanks to all the staff at Pretty Woman Fitness in Orillia.

They have showed me that a small framed person can work out to gain muscle and tone up the body. All these years I have had no confidence in my self. I would not wear shorts in front of anyone. i started working out in January 2006. It is now July and I am wearing shorts and I feel really good about it. It is the best thing I have done for myself ever.

The ladies have been so supportive and have become friends. I look forward to going every day as I have met alot of other great people that are there for their own reasons. I wish I knew all of this many years ago. I would have done it. There are many people of different shapes and sizes and everyone has their own personal goal. I have gone past mine and I cannot believe it myself.

Thanks you guy's for all of your support........

Roxie

You are terrific.

Sharon Arseneault

It was the May 24th weekend in the year 2004 when my husband of 20 years started to feel unwell. Many people when upset eat comfort food and I was no different.

As he got progressively worse I began eating more and exercising less as I stayed by his side day and night.

He became so sick he had to be admitted to the hospital. He was eventually transferred to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. After extensive tests he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

He wanted me to stay there with him. As I live in Orillia it was hard to get back and forth. I eventually stayed there and became his caregiver for 5 months.

As he became photosensitive it limited his movements to staying indoors - out of the sun. He became more sensitive and could not wheel his own chair, and when I pushed him, we would need to go slowly over the cracks in the floor as the bumps were painful to him. Everything hurt him and I moved around even less than before.

In late Aug, 2004 he wasn't able to eat much, so I ate what he couldn't and the hospital left a meal for me too. There wasn't much else to do but to eat. By Sept, 2004 I was watching television and doing crosswords all day to be by his side. By October I ate both his meals and mine.

From 135 lbs to 180 lbs during the hospital stay, I felt it harder to get around and harder to breath at my new weight. I was grief-stricken when he passed away at 52 years of age (10 days into his 52nd year.) I felt bloated, tired, dispirited, out of shape and my eating got out of hand. My weight continued to increase.

My sister Debbie bought me a gift certificate to work out at Pretty Woman Fitness Centre on West & Fittons in Orillia, owned at that time by Irene in Nov. 2004.

So I faithfully worked out each day after work. I lost weight quickly with this lifestyle change. By Feb. 2005 I had gone down to 124 lbs. Oh, I felt so good about myself again! I was fit and flexible again. I coloured my hair and I looked great!

Since Oct. 2005 Debbie Sammit - my sister took over ownership of Pretty Woman Fitness Centre and I've been working out and helping at the gym. I feel so good!

Please feel free to come into the gym and I can show you how I did it.

We would love to see you there!
